Parents are welcome to walk-in with their children the first day of school.
SCHOOL HOURS: MTWRF VPK-1st grade 8:20am-1:50pm
2nd grade-8th grade 8:35am-3:05pm.
All grades dismissal on Wednesday is 1:50pm.
STUDENTS PICK UP
PK-1ST GRADE: Drive by pick up at the front of the school.
2ND-8TH GRADE: Drive-up pick up on the back of the school by entering the school West Gate on 60th Street. Gate opens at 2:50pm.
Students are to be in attendance a minimum of two hours to be counted present for school
TARDINESS AND ABSENCES will be monitored closely as well as students been picked up early. It is recommended to schedule doctor’s appointments after school hours.

EARLY PICK UP DEADLINE:
Students will be counted absent if they are not present in class for at least half of the class period. To be counted “present” for the day, the student must be in attendance for a minimum of two hours of the day.
PK-1st Grade: 1:15pm (Deadline for pick up before school dismissal time)
2nd-8th grade: 2:30pm (Deadline for pick up before school dismissal time)
Wednesdays: 1:15pm (All grades) (Deadline for pick up before dismissal time)
Parents arriving after set deadline will need to wait for the regular dismissal time. Please understand that this is a district policy. Children cannot be dismissed during the last 1/2 hour of school time. Please make arrangements accordingly.
EARLIEST DROP OFF TIME:
7:30AM. Please do not drop off students at school before this time since supervision is not provided before that time.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICES DISTRICT PROCEDURES (Cellphone, Ipad, etc)
In accordance with House Bill 1105 (HB 1105), the District has established updated procedures regarding Wireless Communication Devices (WCDs) for the 2025–2026 school year. Per these guidelines, students in grades K–8 are prohibited from using WCDs during the school day. Limited exceptions apply only in designated areas with administrative approval or when authorized by a documented disability accommodation plan or medical necessity
PARENT PORTAL
The Parent Portal uses the parent’s Google ID or Apple ID to validate the parent’s information. If a parent wants to use a different email address for their portal account, he or she will need to create a new parent account using the desired Google ID or Apple ID and add their students to their Parent Portal.

- The parent needs to request the PIN associated with the child’s registration, so he/she will be able to add their students to the new account.

IMMUNIZATIONS:
Entering 7th grade students are required to provide an updated immunization record including the Tdap Booster vaccine required for 7th grade. This is required by the Florida Department of Health, therefore students that have not met this requirements will not be allowed to attend classes.
TRANSPORTATION:
MDCPS provides transportation for Magnet Students.
Magnet students eligible for transportation must live more than two miles from the school and within the transportation boundaries. Transportation information and bus pass can be viewed and printed the first week in August in the transportation website link below or the Parent Portal. Non-Magnet Students can request transportation after the first 10 days of school provided they live more than 2 miles from the school and within transportation boundaries.

Make sure you sign every section of the registration and that you upload the After School Care proof of insurance purchase on the registration. Payment is made online on FOCUS. Please see the attached document below.

NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE PROGRAMME (ELECTIVE)
What will students learn:
The programme develops the skills of research, analysis, evaluation, reflection, collaboration and communication.
Research says that the earlier students start to develop and practise their skills, the greater the impact on their learning. Making Cambridge Global Perspectives available to younger students will develop and embed cross-curricular skills at an earlier age, supporting them in their studies as they progress to Cambridge Upper Secondary and beyond.
